CETEP Group (Chile) is a renowned ecosystem of mental health and wellness solutions, with over 20 years of experience in the sector. It offers a network of care centers and digital platforms designed for individuals and organizations, standing out as a leader in mental health in Chile and Latin America.
The Challenge
CETEP faced various operational and infrastructure challenges that affected the quality of its services, with incidents causing interruptions and financial and reputational losses. The security of sensitive data and the need for scalable infrastructure without major investments were key concerns. Additionally, manual infrastructure management consumed valuable time, limiting the development of new services.
The Solution
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, CETEP fully migrated to the AWS platform, including critical services such as applications, databases, and networks. This transition significantly improved the organization’s security, monitoring, and resource management, with advanced network configurations and strict access policies. A training program on AWS best practices was also implemented for staff, standardizing procedures and strengthening internal collaboration. This enabled CETEP to quickly adapt to market demands.
The Results
The migration to AWS generated multiple benefits for CETEP, directly impacting the quality of care provided to patients:
→ Enhanced Security and Privacy
Implementation of strict security controls to protect patients’ personal and medical information.
→ Real-Time Access to Information
Continuous 24/7 system operation, facilitating informed decision-making without interruptions.
→ Reduced Downtime
High service availability, minimizing disruptions and ensuring continuous care delivery.
→ Global Expansion
Flexibility to choose geographic locations for data and services, supporting expansion without the need for physical infrastructure investments.
→ Continuous Innovation
Use of advanced AWS services such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to innovate and improve platforms, including the virtual assistant Mhaite for mental health triage. These advancements have strengthened CETEP’s ability to provide more accurate, timely, and personalized care, improving operational efficiency and data security — crucial elements in maintaining patient trust.
A Well-Architected Review significantly enhanced their AWS architecture, optimizing their ability to handle unexpected failures and reducing downtime, ensuring more robust and responsive systems.
