FEBOS is a platform focused on assisting companies in the digital transformation and dematerialization of documents. They offer a variety of services such as document management, electronic signature, electronic invoicing, purchasing and contract process management, and approval systems, among others. FEBOS stands out for its focus on electronic document management, enabling companies to operate more efficiently and sustainably.
The Challenge
FEBOS faced the need to improve the management and security of its cloud infrastructure to continue growing and adapt to the changing demands of the market. The company was looking for a solution that would allow them to scale efficiently, improve governance, and ensure the availability and reliability of their services.
The Solution
CloudHesive proposed conducting an architecture review based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAR). Through this process, they identified areas for improvement and worked with the FEBOS team to evaluate their infrastructure against the six pillars of the Well-Architected Framework. A multi-account model was implemented using AWS Control Tower, enabling centralized and standardized management of accounts. In addition, security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Amazon Inspector were deployed, and internet access was centralized using CloudFormation and Transit Gateway.
The Results
The collaboration between FEBOS and CloudHesive resulted in several significant benefits:
→ Enhanced Security
The implementation of a dedicated security account and the routing of data flow through a single point ensured that all internal resources were protected from unauthorized external access.
→ Efficient Control and Management
The multi-account structure allowed better control over resources by assigning specific accounts for each service and environment (development, testing, and production).
→ High Availability and Resilience
The new architecture ensured a more robust and secure infrastructure, improving service availability and enabling the implementation of disaster recovery plans (DRP) in a second region.
→ Cost Optimization
The ability to model resources based on their usage reduced unnecessary costs, allowing for more efficient and effective cloud infrastructure management.
→ Ongoing Support
Continuous feedback and guidance from CloudHesive ensured that FEBOS followed best practices for each of the Well-Architected Framework pillars, optimizing the cost-efficiency of their technology solutions.
The experience of working with CloudHesive was key for FEBOS, as it allowed them to share their challenges and receive expert guidance, ensuring their technology solutions were secure, available, and resilient. This collaboration not only resolved their immediate challenges but also prepared FEBOS for future developments and improvements in their cloud infrastructure.
